Damascus-SANA, with the participation of 135 local and Arab companies, the activities of the exhibition were launched this evening

With the participation of 135 local and Arab companies, the activities of the "Sella International Export Exhibition" for shoes, leather goods and production requirements in Spring and Summer 2021 were launched in the exhibition city on the road to Damascus International Airport.

The exhibition organized by the Arab Federation for Leather Industries in cooperation with the Federation of Chambers of Industry and Commerce continues until the 24th of this February, with the participation of major companies producing shoes and leather from Syria and several Arab countries.

Industry Minister Ziad Sabbagh indicated in a statement to reporters the importance of the exhibition as it presents local products that indicate the development of the Syrian industry and the return of glory to it, stressing that this is an indication of the return of Syria to its position and its natural position on the economic map.

For his part, Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Dr. Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil drew attention to the quality of the Syrian products participating in the exhibition, which industrialists were able, despite the years of war, to develop and maintain their quality.

In a similar statement, the Secretary-General of the Arab Federation for Leather Industries, Muhammad as a ministry, indicated that the exhibition contributes to enhancing trade exchange between Syrian producers and industrialists and their counterparts in the Arab countries. It is expected that large contracting operations will take place with businessmen invited from abroad, which will contribute to the revitalization of the Syrian leather industries, which existed over decades in All Arab markets.

The President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, Engineer Faris Al-Shehabi, considered that the importance of the exhibition lies in that it is export, especially that this industry is competitive and has an added value, expressing his hope for the success of its activities and the export of all goods, especially that the Syrian product has quality and low price and competes with similar products in the neighboring markets.

The head of public relations in the Arab Federation for Leather Industries, Muhammad al-Boushi, pointed out in a statement to SANA to the wide participation of the 135 local and Arab companies that have proven in previous years their ability to continue and prove their existence despite all circumstances, indicating that 360 businessmen from “Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Yemen have been invited.” Egypt, Libya, Somalia and Djibouti.

In turn, Eng. Muhammad Khair Al-Rifai, Director of the General Company for Shoes Manufacturing, confirmed that the company manufactures all kinds of shoes, indicating that their participation also benefits in terms of getting acquainted with the latest findings of the shoe industry and production requirements.

Georgette Suleiman, Director of the General Tanning Company, said that the importance of the exhibition comes from the fact that it contains many new products, which opens the doors for export and marketing.

The Sella exhibition extends over an area of ​​8,500 square meters and is open to visitors from 12:00 to 8:00 pm and includes daily shoe displays.

The exhibition opening activities were attended by representatives of economic, commercial and industrial activities, businessmen from Syria and abroad, and ambassadors from a number of Arab countries.
