"The people who matter in the office" # 47: The fussy!

2021-02-26T05:10:29.620Z

LE BUREAULOGUE - Every Friday, Le Figaro invites you to meet a “cliché” character who poisons or enlivens the corporate world.

Ah, the fussy ... What a character!

A colleague with whom nothing exceeds.

Always dressed to the nines.

He applies a motto to the letter: the habit makes the monk.

If you detect the slightest singularity in his outfit, it is without knowing it of his own accord.

He, however, wishes to be as neutral, as original as possible.

In his conversations, it's the same thing: the subjects are often agreed upon, impersonal, without one word higher than the other ... For this reason, with him, the discussions never last more than five minutes, watch in hand, and usually end with the classic: the little weather point.

The office of the fussy, necessarily, is in his image.

The keyboard is straight and the mouse waits wisely, well parallel.

Nothing is lying around, except maybe a Bic or a paper diary.

It looks like it came out of an image bank or an Ikea catalog ... When working, the fussy takes his time, to be sure that everything is square.

It takes an average of 37 minutes to write an email.

Turns of phrase, polite expressions and a dozen proofreadings included.

When it comes to having a coffee or lunch, he is always expected: he always has one last detail to polish!

When he leaves his post, he wants to be sure that nothing remains unresolved.

On the career side, the line is often very straight.

The fussy is a follower of loyalty to his employer.

He does not try to be fickle, nor to let him down.

He is a regular colleague, who does not want to harm anyone.

For the management, it's a godsend: with him, barring exceptional circumstances, we are almost certain to know what to expect!

This is precisely why the nit-picker is an excellent element for strategic positions on which we do not want to take any risk.

Want to know if your colleague is picky?

Observe the time he arrives or leaves the office.

Or the places where he takes his lunch break.

They are always the same!

And if, one fine day, this is no longer the case, it is because there is an eel under the rock ...
