The executive once again stepped up to the plate to relaunch teleworking.
Fifty-two formal notices on the subject of telework have been issued by the Labor Inspectorate since last October, the Ministry of Labor said on Friday evening.

A few hours earlier, the Minister of Labor Élisabeth Borne had spoken with the sectors which play “
the least the game
”: banking, insurance, consulting and engineering.
A first meeting had already been held in early February.
The banks Crédit Agricole and Caisse d'Epargne, and the Macif mutual insurance group are among the companies pinned by the Labor Inspectorate.
Teleworking to push back the prospect of confinement
Faced with a deteriorating health situation, the minister is counting on teleworking to push back the prospect of confinement.
Earlier this week, Élisabeth Borne cited studies proving that keeping employees at home reduces the risk of contamination by 20% to 30%.
The minister had indicated that the labor inspectorate would strengthen controls in the coming days.
A breach of the rules may give rise to “
judicial summary proceedings
” for those who have already received a formal notice.
Since the start of 2021, more than 16,000 inspections by the Labor Inspectorate have been carried out, relating to compliance with teleworking and the health protocol.
A detailed analysis of 1300 companies shows that "
66% of these companies set up teleworking, of which two thirds do so on all of their teleworking stations
".

Even more annoying, “
of the 34% of companies that did not implement teleworking, more than half had teleworking positions.
They were the subject of formal
notices, ”the ministry said.
63% of employees telework, according to the Banking Federation
For their part, the banks believe that the government's recurring criticisms are unjustified.

said the French Banking Federation in a statement after the meeting.
According to the Federation, nearly 63% of the 360,000 employees in the sector were teleworking in January, with 25% teleworking all week, 27% teleworking between 2 and 4 days a week, 11% teleworking one day a week or less.
In the support functions, the telework rate exceeds 80%.

This overall figure of 63% is significantly higher than the national average of 21.2%
", defends the Federation.
For 74% of French people, the opening of bank branches, the presence of advisers, or being able to reach them was a reassuring factor during the health crisis.
The unions in the banking sector believe, however, that efforts can be made, particularly in the branches, and have once again called for the organization of negotiations in companies and at branch level.
