Home-based jobs: Bercy experiments with the immediate tax credit

2021-02-28T16:49:36.951Z

As for the third party payment, the tax credit allows individual employers to pay only the remainder. Sixty housewives

You will no longer have to wait several months before recovering your due.

At the start of the year, Bercy launched an experiment with the immediate tax credit, linked to home jobs.

For the time being, around sixty private employers, in the Nord department and in Paris, benefit from this new system.

It should be generalized on January 1, 2022 for childcare or “comfort” activities (cleaning, ironing, gardening, etc.).

Concretely, when a household declares the hours worked by its employee on the site of the Universal Service Employment Check (Cesu), managed by Urssaf, it will immediately visualize what it remains to pay, with immediate deduction of the credit of tax, i.e. 50%.

If, for example, you pay your cleaning lady 100 euros per month, you will only pay her 50 euros.

For the employee, on the other hand, nothing changes.

The Cesu will pay him, month by month, the supplement.

No more waiting for months for a refund

But the change is significant for the households concerned: they no longer need to wait for the payment of their tax credit, which currently takes the form of a deposit in January, supplemented by a second payment during the summer. .

After the deployment of withholding tax, this innovation should make their lives easier.

"It is a major reform which will have a concrete impact on the daily life of millions of French people", supports Olivier Dussopt, Minister for Public Accounts.

Each year, approximately 3.4 million individuals benefit from the tax credit related to home jobs.

“This is a major step forward, which we ourselves had called for, we greet at the Federation of Individual Employers (Fepem).

Hopefully everything is ready for next year!

"

Cautious, Bercy therefore only opened the experiment to a handful of households, which do not use any intermediary.

"We want to go there gradually, test the device with the different profiles, one after the other," says one in the entourage of Olivier Dussopt.

The test will be extended in March, still in the North and in Paris, to people who call on service providers (companies, associations, etc.).

In June, 27,000 individuals will use the new system.

250,000 potential job creations

Companies in the personal service sector are impatient.

“The best estimates are based on 250,000 jobs potentially created!

Employability should also increase, ”hopes Julien Jourdan, Director General of the French Federation of Personal and Local Services (Fédésap).

According to him, an individual who restricted himself to hours in order not to advance too much money, could tomorrow employ someone for longer.

Professionals also count on the immediate tax credit to limit hidden work, which is still too common in the sector.

“Some don't want to wait or find the system too complicated.

Tomorrow, it will be easier to declare than to pay hand by hand, ”said Guillaume Thomas, founder of Aladom.fr, a personal services platform.

It remains to be seen whether the tax services will be ready, from the start of next year, to cash in a significant flow.

“The generalization will be done in stages to avoid bugs, explains one to Bercy.

First, in January 2022, households that employ without an intermediary, and three months later those who use providers.
