If many of the giants of the CAC 40 have experienced the worst financial year in their history, most seem to be on the move already.

The 37 groups of the index that published their 2020 accounts show a cumulative net profit in dizzying fall.

The decline is even stronger than during the 2008 financial crisis: -35% that year, and -20% the following year.

Last year, the kings of the CAC 40 achieved 39 billion euros in cumulative profit, down 51.4% over one year, and 60% compared to 2017, a record year when this figure peaked at 96 , 6 billion.

However, this is the sign of a rebound: in the first half of the year, they recorded, for the first time in the history of the CAC 40, a cumulative net loss of 1.7 billion.
