Tesla lands in New Caledonia for its nickel

The American manufacturer is supporting the takeover of the site, which is very rich in ore in the southern province.


A cyclone is expected to hit New Caledonia this weekend, but the local economic and political weather is lulling.

Independents, loyalists and traditional Kanak chiefs on Thursday validated the contours of the takeover of the nickel plant of the Brazilian Vale, located in the southern province, by the consortium Prony Resources.
