Berlin-SANA

The German airline Lufthansa recorded a record loss of 6.7 billion euros in 2020 with the collapse of demand for air travel in light of the restrictions imposed to limit the spread of the Corona virus.

According to the German newspaper Die Welt, the airline announced that sales fell by about two-thirds to 13.59 billion euros. In addition, about 28,000 people were forced to quit their jobs at the end of last year, so that the group shrank to 110,000 employees and lost thousands of other jobs in the first few months of this year.

Some analysts expect a 50 percent increase in sales to 20.6 billion euros and the loss shrinking 70 percent to 1.8 billion euros.
