A dismissal, contested by the families of the victims and the prosecution, had been granted in 2019 to the company and the manufacturer in the investigation into the disaster of flight AF447, on June 1, 2009 in the middle of the Atlantic.

The 228 people on board, of 34 nationalities, were killed in the accident, the deadliest in the history of the French company.
