Paris hospitals: the cleaning strike is suspended

AP-HP's new hospital cleaning service provider has agreed to maintain the working conditions of its employees.


The strike movement which had disrupted since Monday the cleaning of several establishments of the Public Assistance-Hospitals of Paris (AP-HP) was suspended Friday, the new provider having finally acceded to the request of the staff to maintain their working conditions, welcomed Force Ouvrière (FO).

After five days of strike action, with the support of hospital staff and their FO union, the Challancin company, which took over the market, accepted a compromise and satisfied the demands of the employees.

The strike was therefore suspended pending the implementation of the agreement obtained,

The new subcontractor had refused to commit "

Since Monday, tension has manifested itself in several hospitals in the center and west of the capital, where the Challancin group took over the bio-cleaning market on March 1.

The FO federation, which through the voice of its secretary general Zaïnil Nizaraly welcomes the "

strong support of hospital staff

", nevertheless regrets a "

hard and intense

.

In Necker and Cochin, the two hospitals where the strike was strongest, the movement concerned 140 and 80 agents respectively, according to FO.

In Cochin, the AP-HP thus found that trash cans had been overturned in the entrance and the corridors and argued an "

impediment to achieve the minimum service

".

Necker, for his part, appealed to the police to keep the demonstrators outside.

In its press release, FEETS-FO deplores the "

desire for social dumping of hospitals

" and calls on the public authorities to "

supervise

" subcontracting at the origin of "

precariousness

" in this sector by putting cleaning employees at the same level. level of social guarantees that hospital employees.

Contacted, the group based in Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis) had not followed up on AFP's requests.
