Vaccination in pharmacies: an application to make an appointment online

2021-03-05T20:52:28.947Z

Developed by the start-up Ordoclic, the Covid-Pharma application offers a census of pharmacies, an online consent signature and data sharing between pharmacist and patient.

After the doctors, it is now up to pharmacists to be able to vaccinate.

From the week of March 15, it will be possible for

"people over 50 and with comorbidity"

to go to a pharmacy to receive an injection, announced Thursday Jean Castex.

But the government wanting to avoid the long queues in front of the establishments, it will be necessary to book in advance.

This appointment will be possible either directly on site but also on the internet thanks to the covid-Pharma application developed by the medical start-up Ordoclic.

Specializing in e-prescription in France and electronic exchanges between doctors, pharmacists and patients, it has signed a partnership with several groups and distributors such as OCP or Aprium in order to support them in the vaccination process.

Covid-Pharma will provide a listing of partner pharmacies offering vaccination in order to allow Internet users to find a niche in a pharmacy near their home.

A major challenge for the start-up which

"does not want the patient to make an appointment when the pharmacy has run out of doses"

, explains Guillaume Gobert, doctor of medicine and founder of Ordoclic.

According to him, the application has at least two

"sources of information":

"

the pharmacist who will indicate the status of his stocks in our system and the groups and distributors who can also share data on these stocks with us.

".

On the application, patients will find orientation questionnaires, forms sent automatically before appointments for the collection of information and consents signed electronically by future vaccinated.

Finally, once the act has been performed, proof of vaccination is certified, dematerialized, signed and shared with the patient.

“The goal is to help pharmacists save time,”

insists Guillaume Gobert.

A system already in place for antigen testing

For a week now, Ordoclic has already been offering this system for antigenic tests in pharmacies, the results of which it communicates to the SI-DEP (screening information system) without the pharmacy having to do so.

Guillaume Gobert specifies that discussions are currently being held with the government to have access to vaccine stocks but also to communicate to Si-VAC, the information system for monitoring vaccination, the number of injections carried out.

Regarding the protection of medical data, the founder of the start-up ensures

"not to have access to patient data, visible only to the latter and the pharmacist"

.

For the moment, only a hundred pharmacies have joined Covid-Pharma to help them carry out antigenic tests, but Guillaume Gobert is hopeful that his device will become widespread:

"Pharmacies are looking for solutions and trust their groups. and distributors so we think that a large part could be interested ”
