During the past two months, the General Company for Chemical Industries and Detergents (SAR) has sold 80 tons of its various products at a value of 238 million Syrian pounds.

The general manager of the chemical company, Hisham Al-Fareej, stated in a statement to the representative of SANA that the total quantities sold are to public sector entities, including hospitals, the Syrian Foundation for Trade, and institutions that need special chemicals for cleaning in their work.

Al-Fareej pointed out that the company has witnessed a great demand for its products by the public sector bodies that obtain all their needs of cleaning materials from them, especially that the company's products enjoy the Syrian standard specifications and prices are competitive to their counterparts in the local market.

During the past two months, the company produced about 97 tons, according to Al-Fareej, explaining that the discrepancy in the values and amounts of the quantities sold and produced is due to the difference in their quality, as the company produces about 24 different types of chemicals and detergents after introducing four new items last year.

The company is currently carrying out several procedures to expedite its return from its temporary headquarters in the Glass Company in the Hosh Blas area to its permanent headquarters in the Tel Kurdi area in Damascus countryside, which has been vandalized and part of its contents and infrastructure stolen as a result of terrorist attacks since 2013, indicating that approval has been obtained to install an electricity transformer and provide Financial liquidity to secure transportation requirements and operate a number of machines and production lines, according to Al-Fareej.

Despite the small number of its workers and the sabotage that affected its headquarters due to terrorism, the General Company (Saar) was able to continue its production during the past years from the headquarters of the Storage and Marketing Corporation at first, then moved to work in the Glass Company in the Hosh Place in 2014 with simple tools and worked on developing its products, machines and production lines, which were The last of them is the medical soap line, which last year reached about one billion pounds, which was fully marketed and made a profit of 100 million pounds, according to company data.
