Merchants have been testing for a few weeks a solution that allows customers to pay by credit card without going through a payment terminal.


Paying for purchases by credit card on a merchant's cell phone without going through a traditional payment terminal or inserting your card anywhere ... For a few weeks now, this has been a possibility offered by some 70 merchants who are clients of Crédit Agricole du Languedoc (Aude , Gard, Hérault, Lozère), who are testing this innovative solution developed by the Norman fintech Dejamobile.

Conducted until September, the experiment is a

To date, almost all banks already offer lightweight payment terminals that connect to merchant smartphones.

On the other hand, none offers an application with a smartphone as the only “equipment” necessary for receiving payment.

Below 50 euros, it is a classic contactless payment that takes place, except that the credit card ticket is dematerialized.

For purchases of a higher amount, the solution may however come up against a psychological brake because, to validate the transaction, the customer must enter his secret code on the merchant's phone before the digital edition of a transaction ticket. .

Only merchants with an Android operating system phone are eligible for this innovation.
