The European Union authorizes the use of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine from the American laboratory Johnson & Johnson, announced Thursday the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
"
More safe and effective vaccines are coming to the market,
" said Ursula von der Leyen on Twitter, recalling that 200 million Europeans can be vaccinated thanks to single-injection doses of the vaccine ordered from the American laboratory.
This announcement comes in the wake of the green light given by the European Medicines Agency.

This vaccine has several logistical advantages.
It only requires one injection, unlike the vaccines from Pfizer / BioNTech, Moderna or AstraZeneca, which are given in two doses spaced several weeks apart.
Plus, it can be stored for 3 months at standard refrigerator temperatures, making it easy to dispense.
Johnson & Johnson's vaccine has been urgently authorized in the United States since the end of February.
It has also been in Canada since early March.
Prior to that, South Africa had also started administering it.
