Having become the third largest aircraft manufacturer in the world, behind Airbus and Boeing, since the Canadian Bombardier sold its commercial aviation branch, Embraer has been seeking to revive itself since the abandonment of its alliance with Boeing.
Faced with the health crisis and that of the 737 Max, the American giant gave up, in April 2020, to take control of Embraer's commercial aviation activity for $ 4 billion.

Embraer is certainly the world leader in regional aviation with its range of E2 190 and 195 jets, but it is weakened by its small size and limited resources while its accounts have deteriorated.
Embraer, like other manufacturers, suffered the full brunt of the impact of the Covid-19 crisis.
The group ended 2020 with a net loss of 731.9 million US dollars, doubling its deficit compared to 2019. Its consolidated turnover fell 31% to 3.77 billion dollars.
