Facebook will begin to gradually reopen its offices in May

Facebook will begin reopening some offices in the San Francisco Bay area in May, if health data continues to improve, but without perks like free dining or transportation shuttles.

Like other giants of Silicon Valley, the social network quickly began to telecommute after the start of the pandemic.

The offices in Silicon Valley will reopen initially at 10% of their capacity.

The other sites of the social network will then reopen, on a case-by-case basis, from July 2, up to 50% of their capacity.

This threshold should not be reached before September 7 for larger locations.

All employees can continue to work from home until July 2.

Those who are not officially teleworking will then be able to do so for another month after the reopening to 50% of their site.

When deciding whether to reopen an office, Facebook will take into account several key elements, including the infection rate, the vaccination rate and instructions from the authorities.

Microsoft reopens its offices
