Total deposits with microfinance institutions at the end of last year exceeded the 16 billion Syrian pounds threshold, with a growth rate of 30 percent compared to the end of 2019.
According to the Central Bank of Syria's weekly economic report, time deposits with microfinance institutions amounted to more than 9 billion pounds by the end of 2020, savings deposits about 5 billion pounds, and demand deposits about two billion pounds.
According to a previous economic report from the Central Bank, deposits at "public and private banks" recorded a growth rate of 64 percent until the end of November of last year compared to the end of 2019, and amounted to 7.169 billion pounds in the aforementioned period.
