The managers of 250 ski shops in "
absolute (financial) urgency
" wrote to the Prime Minister to ask for their difficulties to be better taken into account, they announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Led by the Sport and Cycle Union, which brings together the sector, the signatories wish to draw Jean Castex's attention to the specificity of mountain shops which generate most of their turnover over the few winter months.
The loss of activity for them amounts to 85% of a pre-Covid year, they estimate, adding that "
28% (of companies) have consumed more than half of their loan guaranteed by the State
".

At the origin of this critical situation, recent choices by the government which penalize seasonal mountain businesses,
" continued the press release issued by the Union sport et cycle.

unjust and largely insufficient to cover the charges incumbent on these companies

The ski lift operators, the most directly affected by the shutdown of their facilities decided to fight the Covid-19 epidemic, saw their specific aid opened at the end of March.
