A middle-class family needed a total of
$ 131,768.62
last month
to meet their expenses
, according to the monthly survey carried out by the Center for Education, Services and Consumer Advice (CESyAC).
The most significant increases in March were those of the
school fee (26%)
,
subway
rate
(21.4%),
taxis
(20%),
meat
(9.06%),
fuel
(8%), and
medicines
(5.36%).
Other items that also suffered strong increases were
packaged groceries (4.95%),
prepaid medicine (3.5%), cleaning products (3.38%) and ABL (2.5%).
The report prepared by the CESyAC monitors the prices of the food and services basket.
The survey
It includes, among several items,
the house rental,
the expenses of
a 10-year
-old car, the
prepaid medicine
subscription
, the fee for a
private school for two children and the family subscription in a club
.
From these elements surveyed, it is clear that
a family needed $ 4,392.28 per day in March to meet monthly expenses
;
$ 1,056.15 are to purchase mass consumer products and $ 3,336.13 to contract basic household services.
Meanwhile, inflation in March was in the order of 5.37% while the inter-annual price variation was 33.20%.
Of the total of 50 products surveyed in the basket,
20 products are included that are found in the Agreement on "Care Prices" signed
with the Government effective from January 7 of last year - AMBA version-, of annual duration and quarterly reviews .
In addition, in a year-on-year comparison, the work also detected
sidereal increases in the same product, such as the kilo of oranges that became more expensive by 161.91%
(it cost $ 60.19 in April 2020 and is currently worth $ 157.65).
Meanwhile, the kilo of sweet potato went from $ 45.18 to $ 88.65 in a year, which represents a variation of 96.21%.
Meanwhile, the multipurpose cleaner pack (0.50 Procenex) was worth $ 74.70 while it is now $ 140.13 (87.59% more expensive in twelve months).
Finally, the two main items that
lowered the price
compared to last year were
