Parisian executives want more than ever to leave the capital

According to a study carried out by Cadremploi, one in five executives looked for a job outside Île-de-France in March 2021.

Paris is no longer popular.

After real estate, the attractiveness of the capital for executives now seems to be declining.

A study, carried out by Cadremploi * and made public on Tuesday, analyzes the job searches of Parisian executives since January 2020: with the health crisis, more and more of them are dreaming of elsewhere.

It is true, this displayed disenchantment with the capital is a constant among the executives who work there.

Every year, Cadremploi makes the same observation: more than 80% of them declare “

wanting to leave Paris to settle in the region

”.

But thanks to the pandemic, a growing proportion of these executives are moving from the simple declaration - almost agreed - to concrete steps, such as job search.

Thus, the executive recruitment site observed a 31% increase in the number of candidates seeking employment in the regions between March 2020 and March 2021. Over the last month, nearly one in 5 executives looked for a job outside the Île-de-France region. of France.

Leading research: Nantes, Bordeaux and Lyon

But where do the disappointed in the capital see their new life? Loire-Atlantique, Gironde and Rhône are the most coveted departments: the employment areas of large cities such as Nantes, Bordeaux and Lyon are very attractive. But the climate and the living environment also count: Ile-de-France executives would like to be able to breathe the sea air of the west coast or hike in the Alps without having to take the train or drive for hours. However, the distance with the capital must remain reasonable and if these three cities are so popular, it is because they are connected to Paris in less than three hours by the TGV. You don't cut the cord so easily.

The capital therefore still shines, especially among the youngest for whom "

Paris is often an essential step to start your professional career

" explains Cadremploi.

Executives with more than ten years of experience are more inclined to seek employment in the regions.

But whether they have experience or not, Parisian executives are looking for the same positions, the sales function is in the lead.
