Dubai Marina: puke dune instead of poo hill?

According to plans by an organizing team, the Oktoberfest will take place in the desert this year.
The Berlin Christmas market boss Charles Blume confirmed this to SPIEGEL.
The plan is to move the world's largest folk festival to an area of around 420,000 square meters near the Dubai Marina.
Blume confirmed that the emirate's officials had given a promise.
Alcohol can therefore be served on the area, as it is already now in hotels.
However, drunks would have to be transported to their hotels by shuttle bus, so they shouldn't walk around town tipsy.
It is about respecting both cultures, said Blume.
He did not want to comment on further details for the time being, as he had signed a confidentiality agreement.
The »Bild« newspaper had previously reported that the Dubai Oktoberfest should start on October 7th at 12 noon in 32 tents at the same time and then take place for six months from 12 noon to midnight.
The estimated cost was around 50 million euros.
In addition to Blume, the Munich ex-restaurateur Dirk Ippen and Munich host Sepp Krätz played a key role in developing the plan, it said.
According to the "Bild" newspaper, there should be replicas of the Bavaria statue and the Hall of Fame in Dubai.
The Ferris wheel at the Hanover Expo should also be set up.
Numerous breweries and innkeepers from Bavaria are to take part in the event, hundreds of showmen have already agreed.
Ikke Hüftgold, among others, was asked for the music.
Celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Pamela Anderson and Lothar Matthäus are to be flown in as guests, the report continues.
The Munich Oktoberfest has also been canceled for 2021 due to the corona pandemic.
The United Arab Emirates, in which Dubai is located, are considered a dictatorship that disregards many human rights.
The relocation of the Oktoberfest to this location is likely to be discussed as controversially as the World Cup in the nearby Emirate of Qatar.
