The Central Bank usually sends reports on how to prevent bank scams or what commissions different entities charge.
Now to those financial education documents he added the
options and tools to save
.
But, of course, only
in pesos.
According to the monetary agency, "currently, there is a wide series of instruments that allow obtaining various returns.
Such as UVA fixed terms
, which offer a
return above inflation
", estimated at around 47% this year by the same analysts who query the entity.
In addition, the Central recalled that for certain fixed terms it established a
minimum interest rate
precisely to encourage savings in pesos.
And he clarified that everything can be done online "without the need to go to a branch."
"The banking entities have a link that allows determining the investor profile of each person. Based on a series of questions, savers determine the
degree of risk they want to assume: conservative, moderate or aggressive.
Depending on the defined character, it may be possible to choose between the different options available in the financial system, "explained the BCRA.
And made a list of the options:
Fixed term pre-cancelable UVA
The pre-cancelable UVA fixed terms were launched by the Central Bank as an investment option at a
positive real rate
for savers.
These deposits offer a minimum rate of 1% per year on inflation, if the
contractual term of 90 days
is met
.
The particularity of this product is that
it can be pre-canceled
after 30 days.
In that case,
the fixed prepayment rate is 30.50%.
If within 90 days you
choose to meet, the investor receives the interest rate equivalent to the Price Index Consumer reported by
the INDEC plus the annual rate of 1%, "thus maintaining the purchasing power of savings and beat for one point to inflation, "they said in the Central.
Banks that take time deposits
are obliged to offer this option
to all savers through all means, either in branches or through homebanking.
Fixed Term UVA
UVA fixed terms without pre-cancellation option are contracted for a
minimum of 90 days
and allow obtaining a return above inflation, according to the rate offered by the entities.
Traditional Fixed Term
It is contracted for a minimum of 30 days and has a guaranteed minimum rate, established by the Central Bank for retail savers.
The current minimum rate is 37%.
You can make a fixed term even without being users of an entity.
Other financial investments
Depending on the profile of each saver, there is a variety of options ranging from the riskiest public securities to shares or mutual funds.
Public titles or bonds: they
are issued by the public sector (National State, Provincial States or Municipalities). They can return the money invested in installments, called "amortizations," or return the principal plus interest at maturity. In addition, they pay an interest rate that can be fixed, variable or mixed. While they can be held to maturity, investors can decide to sell them on the market at any time prior to that date.
The purchase or sale of securities, shares or other instruments in the capital market can be done through banks, using the accounts that are already enabled, or through a Stock Exchange company that is now called ALyC (Settlement Agents and Compensation) registered with the National Securities Commission (CNV), the body in charge of the regulation and supervision of the capital market.
Investors must first open
a client account
in the bank or in the ALyC (it can be done online as well) and from there start trading.
Purchases are credited within 48 hours in a subaccount set up in the name of the investor in the Caja de Valores, which is the
depository of the securities.
Negotiable Obligations (ON)
: it is the issuance of debt carried out by companies.
Through the ONs, a company contracts debt with the bondholders, that is, the investors who bought those securities, and undertakes to cancel that debt within the agreed period together with the corresponding interest.
The principal of the obligations
is generally returned in annual or semi-annual installments
, and generates an interest that can be of a fixed or variable rate.
Negotiable obligations may have a risk rating,
which makes the investment more secure.
Companies can issue NOs in pesos at a fixed rate or
in pesos tied to the price of the dollar.
In the latter case, the saver buys the security in pesos at the official exchange rate and upon maturity receives the pesos equivalent to the official exchange rate.
This option allows you to follow the evolution of the price of the dollar by
making an investment in pesos.
Investment
funds: the funds allow access to a diversified portfolio of assets, including markets and instruments that, due to distance or necessary amounts, are not easily accessible to small investors.
The administration of the fund portfolio is in charge of a management company, which must register with the CNV in the register of Management Agents of Collective Investment Products.
Investment funds can be subscribed
through banks or with
registered
ALyC
and the variety of offers includes the possibility of subscribing in pesos for
funds that follow the evolution of public securities, shares or assets in dollars
.
Like the other investments, it is advisable to first carry out the investor profile test to choose the fund according to the risk you want to assume.
