The Central Bank of Syria called on the citizens to refrain from buying foreign currencies from the informal market, and to resort to banks and exchange companies to obtain their need of foreign exchange.
In a statement, SANA received a copy of it, the Central Bank indicated that the bank had visited some citizens to pay the amounts owed on them in foreign currency, and it was found that a large amount of forged foreign exchange was within these amounts that had been purchased from the informal market.
