The
Total Basic Basket
(CBT) registered an
increase of 3.4%
in April,
so a family group made up of two adults and two minors needed to have an income of more than $ 63,000 in order not to fall below the poverty line.
In addition, it experienced an increase of 47.8% compared to the same month of 2020.
For its part, the
Basic Food Basket
(CBA) rose
3.9%
in April, compared to March, and showed an interannual variation of 49.1%.
Thus, a family of four needed $ 26,677 to escape the poverty line.
The CBA responds to the
essential kilocaloric and protein normative requirements
for a certain family group.

The basic food basket includes Bread, water cookies, sweet cookies, rice, wheat flour, other flours (corn), noodles, potatoes, sweet potatoes, sugar, sweets (sweet potato, jam, dulce de leche), dried legumes ( lentils, peas), vegetables (chard, onion, lettuce, tomato perita, carrot, squash, canned tomato), fruits (apple, tangerine, orange, banana, pear) meats (roast, common meat, backbone, shoulder, minced meat, buttock, chicken, fish meat) giblets (liver), cold cuts, eggs and milk.
It also includes cheese (cream cheese, cuartirolo cheese, grated cheese), yogurt, butter, oil, non-alcoholic beverages (soft drinks, concentrated juices, soda), alcoholic beverages (beer, wine) fine salt, condiments (mayonnaise, concentrated broths) vinegar, coffee and herb.
Meanwhile, to determine the CBT, the family basket is used as a basis and
the prices of non-food goods and services are added to it.
In March, the CBA rose 4.5%, while the variation of the total basic basket (CBT) was 5%.
