Scoolinary, with 1,000 subscribers, offers 100 'online' cooking courses for amateurs and professionals

Jordi Ber, co-founder of Scoolinary.

Until a few decades ago, being a cook was not a prestigious profession.

For a few years and after the boom of Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine, and the media position of many chefs, it has become a successful trade.

Premises that have caused the hospitality sector to demand more training and reinvent itself in search of new opportunities.

But even so, it seems that online education, now in full swing, has not penetrated enough in this sector.

These and other reasons led Jordi Ber, along with his former partner Martín Caleau (both were co-founders of Habitissimo), and other names related to the sector such as Vicente Fortea, Lorena Hidalgo, Inés Calle and María Parareda, to launch in July 2020 a cyber school to fill this gap.

“Many hospitality workers who have been at home during the pandemic demanded training.

We came to meet that need and also at a good price ”, says Ber.

The average duration of each course is 90 minutes, which are divided into two or three minute lessons. "This allows you to watch a class anytime and almost anywhere," he adds.

They have 1,000 subscribers who have bought more than 10,000 courses, ranging from vegetarian cooking to how to make the perfect gin and tonic or how to put together a business plan for the bar or restaurant.
