EXCLUSIVE. From June 9, the TousAntiCovid application will include a new traceability feature intended to secure bars

It is the new shield against Covid-19 developed by the government to succeed in this new deconfinement and to resume our usual activities.

In addition to the health pass, the TousAntiCovid application will be equipped with a digital reminder book on June 9, the day when sports halls can reopen and bars, restaurants and cafes, welcome customers in the room with a gauge set at 50. %.

In the fall of 2020, customers were invited to leave their contact details in writing to be contacted in the event of contamination of a customer present at the same time. According to our information, from June 9, the paper version will still be possible, but restaurant owners and owners of sports halls will also be able to choose the digital version called TousAntiCovid Signal. For this, they will have to put at the entrance of their establishment a poster with a QR code (

) that customers will have to scan with their smartphone via the TousAntiCovid application. The date and time of their visit will then be recorded on their phone.

"It will not be necessary to use a classic or digital reminder book on the terrace or in the cinema, reassures the office of the Secretary of State for Digital Transition, Cédric O. We have targeted poorly ventilated enclosed spaces where the port mask is not continuous and where the virus can be transmitted more than five meters away, as well as several hours after an infected person leaves.

"

What about personal data?

No need to unsheathe the phone at the exit, the person who will have scanned the QR code at the entrance will be considered as present in the place concerned for two hours, while this period is extended to 12 hours for professionals in sports halls and catering. If another client and user of the application, present in the same period of time, tests positive for Covid in the following days, an orange alert will be sent to his phone with an incentive to get tested quickly, limit his contacts and watch for symptoms. If three or more people are present at the same time during their incubation period, then the other people who have been around this place will be considered as exposed. Thus, the alert will be red with the instruction to isolate yourself and be tested.

To reassure suspicious customers and professionals, the government is playing the transparency card.

Unlike identities, signatures and telephone numbers, which should be noted in the paper reminders, this new option is intended to be more confidential.

TousAntiCovid Signal was presented and approved by the Cnil.

On the side of the cabinet of Cédric O, we assure him: “There is no history of place but only of the correlations made between the various QR codes, and all the data are erased after 15 days.

"

Alain Griset, the Minister of SMEs, wants to be reassuring: “These QR codes are completely anonymous and do not allow the name or the address of the places to be found. Customers and professionals will not be singled out if a cluster forms in an establishment. The objective is to do everything so that there is no rebound in the epidemic during this transitional period and that we can safely resume the normal course of our activities from the end of June.
