They are women who are

between 60 and 64 years old

.

But since

they cannot retire

because they do not have 30 years of minimum contributions, the ANSeS will recognize these women for

up to 3 years for each daughter or son

as if they had contributed.

And so

155,000 women will be able to retire immediately.

The novelty is part of the "Comprehensive Program for Recognition of Periods of Service for Care Tasks," according to what

the ANSeS technical teams led by its owner, Fernanda Raverta

, told

Clarín

.

According to the officials, "more than 300,000 women between 59 and 64 years old have the age to retire, but they cannot do so because they do not fulfill the 30 years of services required between their registered contributions and the periods that can be recognized by the current moratorium" .

This is due to

informality, unemployment

and also to the

years they were away from the labor market due to pregnancy, breastfeeding and childcare.

Within this universe of women, 155,000 will be in a position to retire

immediately

if they are recognized for the years they were out of the job market to care for their children.

In turn,

44% of women of retirement age (60 or over) cannot access a pension benefit,

according to ANSES records.

"One of the main factors that explain this situation is that, throughout life, the formal labor market generates

more difficulties for women than for men to insert themselves

," says a document from the pension organization.

Consequently, for retirement purposes, the “Comprehensive Program for the Recognition of Periods of Service for Care Tasks” compensates for the gap in years of contributions generated by care tasks, recognizing them as periods of service.

Basically,

three complementary modalities

are combined

that will allow immediate access to retirement to a part of the current elderly women, many of whom today do not have any income:

* One year of pension services per child for women and pregnant women with children born alive or adopted as minors.

* Women who have been holders of AUH (and the child has received this right for at least 12 months) will be counted

two additional years

.

The mothers who charge the AUH for their children add up to 2.3 million, 94% of the total number of headlines on 4.4 million boys and girls.

They are households that live in conditions of social vulnerability.

*

Registered workers

who have made use of the period of maternity and leave of absence will also be granted the same period for the purpose of accessing the right to retirement.

According to a document by Unicef and the Directorate of Economy and Gender of the Ministry of Economy, published by Clarín, “

women in charge of households with children

and adolescents are the most affected by the crisis: they

face a worse insertion in the labor market

(higher levels of informality, greater instability, lower wages) while experiencing time poverty deepened by the pandemic. As a consequence of this, their economic participation rate falls and their unemployment increases, which increases the levels of poverty and indigence in their homes ”.

The Report also points out that mothers "who are in charge of households with children and adolescents are the ones who face the

greatest obstacles to rejoining working life

and keeping their jobs or looking for a new job."

“With this decision, the National Government would expand the coverage of social security, recognizing rights and accompanying each and every one of the Argentines, especially those who need it most.

It is also a vindication of one of the historical struggles of the women's movement ”, says the ANSeS text.
