The EUR 750 billion Corona development aid from the European Union has cleared a decisive hurdle.
The necessary parliamentary ratification of budget decisions has now been completed in all 27 EU countries, said EU budget commissioner Johannes Hahn on Twitter.
He is confident that all remaining steps can be taken in May.
Then the EU Commission could start in June to raise the first funds for the billion dollar program on the financial markets, wrote the Austrian on Thursday evening.
Previously, the parliaments in Austria and Poland were the last to approve the legal basis for borrowing the EU Commission, the so-called equity decision.
Some states now have to officially report their approval to Brussels, then the preparations for borrowing are complete and the EU Commission can issue the first bonds.
The disbursement of the first funds to deal with the economic consequences of the Corona crisis could then begin in July.
The prerequisite is that the EU states jointly approve the development plans of the individual countries.
