Economist Miguel Bein died

The economist Miguel Bein died this Sunday after suffering from laryngeal cancer.

He was admitted to the German Hospital.

He was 70 years old.

A renowned economist at the UBA, Bein was secretary of SMEs in the presidency of Raúl Alfonsín and vice minister of Economy, in the time of José Luis Machinea during the mandate of Fernando De la Rúa, with the formal position of secretary of Economic Programming.

He studied at Harvard University and came to public service

at the age of 36

, in 1987 with Alfonsín.

Bein was born on October 28, the same day as the tycoon Bill Gates and the actress Julia Roberts, as he took care of remarking whoever interviewed him.

It was an unavoidable voice of consultation for the national economic reality.

He was married to the epistemologist Olga Rébori and had three children: Tomás, an economist like his father;

Iván, lawyer, and Victoria, psychologist.
