The car company Daimler is looking to sell its own stores and workshops in Great Britain, Spain and Belgium. The Dax group wanted to lower the cost base, among other things, with a sale, said a spokesman, confirming a report by the »Handelsblatt«. "In this context, our stores are continuously reviewing their existing and future local sales setups and networks," said the spokesman. This has already been communicated at the local level in the three countries concerned.

According to "Handelsblatt", the considerations are about 25 branches with around 2800 employees.

With this, the Dax group could earn up to one billion euros, it says in the report, citing industry circles.

A revenue of 30 to 40 million euros is possible for each branch.

The company did not want to comment on numbers when asked.

A sale does not mean closure, said the Daimler spokesman: "In the possible discussions with interested parties, long-term business success and the continuation of the Mercedes-Benz activities there at the locations will have the highest priority." at the same time ensure the best possible customer support on site.

There are currently no plans to sell branches in other European countries.

According to the newspaper, Daimler only has a low three-digit number of branches of its own.
