After a year of drought for football fans all over the world, the Euro 2020 events that will take place from today and throughout the coming month, until July 11, will open for us tonight.

This is a time characterized by an increase in activity in bars and public places that we watched the games to attract an audience - not only, but mostly of men.

In addition, the fact that the games stick to the screens quite a few viewers, causes an increase in sales of certain products.

It seems that this year, after the Corona, after the many election campaigns and after the Wall Guard, the viewing is also accompanied by a special interest in returning to normalcy: some football instead of grueling news broadcasts.

Buyers agree more

After the World Cup, the most watched football tournament in the world, the euro is an attraction for many, even those who on weekdays are not considered ardent fans, and this is also accompanied by a change in consumption habits.

Three decades ago buying a TV was a significant purchase in the eyes of consumers in all classes and over the years the screens grew and prices dropped, the World Cup, Olympics and Euros were events that led to a jump in sales of TV screens, projectors, surround sound systems and more.

This year, too, we received a report from TV screen marketers about growth in demand, although it is not the same growth percentage as before the last World Cup (Russia 2018), but there is certainly a significant awakening, which can also be learned from the many commercials for new screens.

Wide viewing circles

In the field of home hospitality, which developed greatly during the Corona period even without any connection to football, these are in fact 51 separate events, from the opening game tonight at the Olimpico Stadium in Rome to the final game at the Wembley Stadium in London. The games that will be broadcast this year on Network 13 and Charlton's sports channels are in direct competition with other platforms, from competing channels to digital broadcasting applications.

It turns out that even those who are not avid football fans, find themselves watching games, even if only to be updated and stay on top of things in a month where football is pushing aside almost every other topic of conversation. Some of them also do this to continue to be invited to the meetings of the guys, the many beers and nuts, since sometimes football is just an excuse ...

If on Passover we checked all the shopping, on Independence Day we stormed the freezers full of meat, Lag B'Omer examined marshmallows, sausages and disposable dishes and on Shavuot we raided the milk refrigerators in supermarkets, then the consumer interest in euros is a little harder to focus.

Not just football, friends too

Hosting sports games is part of a global culture and does not only belong to Israeli culture, it is an experience that tries to emulate or comfort those who can not realize the experience on the football fields physically and enjoy the experience of watching and constant tension, as well as gambling (even if we refer only to legal gambling Of course) in growth during this period, and is another thrill for those fans.

On a personal note, although I am not a fan of football, gambling and beer, every year I find myself a host or host or even find a reason (in the years without Corona.) To fly to Europe to watch one of the games, which is an experience in itself for non-ardent fans.

The beer tops the list

We checked with you, the hosts and the hosts, what you will offer the guests, what you like to pamper and be pampered in front of the TV screen, in a month that takes you on a virtual sports tour of Europe.

So of course at the top of the list is beer.

We also looked at prices of nuts and snacks - with an emphasis on savory, as well as classic ingredients in every self-respecting mazat table - from sausages to watermelons.

So it turns out that the majority testified in advance preparations for the viewing marathon, in which they make sure that the house and refrigerator are always ready for every game and every stay, so we went out to examine how much you will pay for the Euro basket but in shekels and where to find the affordable basket.
