After the takeover of the La Halle brand, the Beaumanoir group could acquire the ready-to-wear brand.

From the Vivarte group, which was so powerful in the 1990s, there will soon be only the shoemaker Minelli.

Vivarte announced Thursday that it had entered into exclusive negotiations with the Beaumanoir group for the sale of Caroll.

The ready-to-wear brand, which has 470 points of sale and 1,200 employees, achieved a turnover of 240 million euros last year.

It has always been profitable, including in 2020, assures Vivarte.

But its international expansion and adaptation to the breakthrough of e-commerce required heavy investments that the fallen giant could not make.

"With this transaction, Caroll would have the financial and human resources necessary to pursue its growth",

explains Vivarte.

The shareholders of the latter - investment funds which in the past converted Vivarte's debt to them into capital - intend to sell what remains of the group at the best price, and recover part of their investment.
