Securing 50,000 cubic meters per day of industrial and drinking water for Adra Industrial Cityدرا

The head of the water unit in the industrial city of Adra affiliated to the General Corporation for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Damascus and its countryside, Hassan Ali, confirmed the continuation of work to secure the daily need of the industrial facilities in the city, estimated at 40 thousand cubic meters of industrial water and about 10 thousand cubic meters of drinking water through Water intake stations and wells.

In a statement to SANA, Ali indicated to isolating the wells of the Tishreen station, rehabilitating and maintaining two wells, digging three wells in Tel Kurdi, implementing the project to transfer the water of the Tishreen Mill to the craftsmen and the fourth sector, and following up on the maintenance of the city's water network on an ongoing basis to ensure its access to all partitions.

The head of the water unit called for the necessity of digging wells in line with the granted licenses and the increasing water need for industrialists, reducing the hours of electrical rationing as much as possible, allocating permanent maintenance contracts in line with the city's budget, and securing specialized and sufficient manpower to work in the water unit.

Ali indicated that the number of facilities benefiting from industrial water in the city is 1459 facilities and the required quantities of water are secured from five wells belonging to the Corporation with a capacity of 3,000 cubic meters per day and from 15 wells belonging to the Industrial City with an average capacity of 15 thousand cubic meters per day and five wells belonging to Adra Mill with a capacity of 3,500 cubic meters per day and 6 wells belonging to the Tel Kurdi plant project with a capacity of more than 4,500 cubic meters per day.

Ali pointed out that the city includes 3 high ground mineral tanks in the fifth sector with a total capacity of 5,000 cubic meters of industrial water for each tank, in addition to a high ground concrete tank in the same sector and 4 aggregate ground tanks with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters for each industrial water tank and two additional tanks in two stations. Tishreen and Tal Kurdi with a capacity of 40 cubic meters are ready, and a ground tank in Tell Kurdi with a capacity ranging between 1200 and 1300 cubic meters, and 3 concrete tanks for drinking water with a capacity of 500 cubic meters for each tank.

It is distributed in the city according to 5 water pumping stations, of which 2 are ready, namely the Tishreen Mill pumping station and Tel Kurdi, while the 39th Brigade and Al-Rayhan stations are still under construction, indicating that the sewage pumping station in Adra Industrial is not currently operating until the completion of the equipment of the sewage treatment plant.
