The US budget deficit hit a record level of $2.06 trillion during the first 8 months of the current budget year.
And the US Treasury said in a monthly report issued yesterday and quoted by the Associated Press... The deficit this year is 9.7 percent higher than the deficit of 1.88 trillion dollars, which was recorded during the same period last year.
The report also showed that relief programs from the Corona virus pushed spending in the United States to its highest level ever, recording in the period from October to May 4.67 trillion dollars, an increase of 19.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
Government tax revenues rose 29.1% to $2.61 trillion compared to the same period last year.
