About thirty associations and collectives from Picardy and Nord-Pas-de-Calais denounce
“a saturation”
of their region with wind turbines and ask for “a moratorium” on this equipment.

"Faced with wind saturation in the region, our associations and elected officials in Hauts-de-France are asking to be heard by the government,"
they wrote in a press release on Wednesday, with the support of a dozen municipal councilors and parliamentarians.
"We can only note the saturation of our region, with already nearly a third of national wind power and more than 2,600 wind turbines authorized",
write the signatories.
Among their main demands are
"a moratorium on wind power in the region"

"a revision of the minimum distance of 500 meters from homes"
, a law or regulation on saturation and encirclement of the communes.
"Saturation of industrial wind power"
They ask to be received by the regional prefecture to
"share both the realities on the ground, as well as the different alternatives"
proposed.
"This phenomenon of saturation of industrial wind power extends endlessly over the entire region, on land and now at sea (...) And yet, both population and elected officials do not have any decision-making power when setting up these projects. »
