Xavier David and his wife, Yolanda, don't do things by halves.
In the Tarn, where their Système U supermarket is located, the supply of fresh vegetables was very poor.
Local farmers primarily grow cereals and fruits, but abandon vegetables, which require significant labor and investment.
Never mind, the couple decided two years ago to launch their own market gardening activity.
The goal: to offer customers in their store the fresh and local vegetables that were sorely lacking.

The vegetables from the Potager du Pastel, as they called it, represent around 40% of those offered by the Système U supermarket in Lavaur.
A complement from other producers remains essential, to offer products that are not in season, such as tomatoes in winter.
For the rest, Xavier and Yolanda David just have to phone their crop manager to tell him the quantity of tomatoes,
