Already 2,000 deliverers hired on permanent contracts, in ten cities: against the tide of its competitors (Deliveroo, Uber Eats…), Just Eat relies on salaried workers for some of its couriers.
“When we announced our intention to recruit 4,500 delivery people this year, everyone looked at us suspiciously, talking about an announcement effect,”
says Meleyne Rabot, CEO of Just Eat France.
Just Eat already employs 22,000 delivery people on permanent contracts in twelve countries. It is an investment choice, which has a virtuous effect. By being paid by the hour (10.30 euros gross in France), we take away the tension on the delivery men, who wait too many in front of the same restaurants. "
75% of new recruits are under 26 and 60% are students.
“Most of the contracts are part-time,”
explains Meleyne Rabot.
