Switzerland's turn this time around, while France faced the same problem in early June.
The country was affected Friday morning by a large outage of emergency numbers, unreachable from landlines in much of the country since night.

The affected cantons quickly posted replacement numbers on the AlertSwiss site, the Confederation's portal for dealing with emergencies, or via Twitter. The problem affects a large part of the country, especially large cities such as Zurich, Basel and Geneva.
The origin of the failure is not yet known, but according to the operator Swisscom the problem currently affects calls to landlines, explaining that "
calls are established
" but "
interrupted after a few seconds
". The blackout affects fixed lines, commercial numbers but also emergency, calls on the mobile network not being however affected, specifies the incumbent operator of telecoms in Switzerland which says to make "
all possible to restore the situation
”.
