After the digital sector, the press and real estate, agriculture 2.0 is Xavier Niel's new playground.
The telecoms billionaire, founder of the Iliad (Free) group, contributed last year to
the
launch of the first plant in France for plant-based meat substitutes, initiated by Les Nouveaux Fermiers in a location still kept secret.

This start-up, supported by the Public Investment Bank (BPI), had raised, in early 2020, 3 million euros from the investment fund of the businessman, Kima Ventures, the former co-founder of Sushi Shop, Adrien de Schompré, and the former director of Innocent, Philippe Cantet.
From now on, its vegetable steaks and nuggets are on the shelves of a large number of Monoprix, Carrefour Market or at the Grande Épicerie du Bon Marché in Paris.
And on the menus of more than 150 restaurants, including burger chains.
