Thomas Morel, associate director at McKinsey and responsible for the automotive division in France, participated in the development of the “2030 roadmap” presented to Emmanuel Macron on Monday by La Plateforme automobile, which brings together professionals in the sector.

- Does France have a chance to stay in the race for the automotive industry dedicated to electricity?
Thomas MOREL.
- The work carried out in recent months with various automotive stakeholders allows us to have a vision of what the automotive industry could represent in our country by 2030. We are starting from an industry that was second in Europe in 2011 , and 5th today.
The French market, from 3.7 million vehicles in 2004, fell below the 2 million mark last year.
The French automobile industry had a trade surplus of 14 billion euros in 2004. It posted a deficit of 15 billion euros in 2019.
