US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on Monday called on the EU to consider "
additional fiscal measures
," including easing its deficit rules that allow more investment, to bolster the global economic recovery from the pandemic .

It is important that Member States seriously consider additional fiscal measures to ensure a robust recovery nationally and globally,
” said Janet Yellen, in Brussels. She mentioned in particular "
the creation of a European budgetary framework flexible enough to allow countries to react forcefully to crises and to invest in sustainable infrastructures, in research, development and technology
