In the US, a law from the era of former US President Donald Trump that re-regulates the flow of water from shower heads is being repealed.
Trump had complained during his tenure that he was not getting wet enough due to the showerhead limit.
The limitation was once introduced to save water.
The Ministry of Energy is now returning to the status of 2013, since 1992 the federal law has stipulated that new shower heads must not emit more than 9.5 liters per minute.
However, the rule change will hardly have any practical effects, since almost all commercially available shower heads still comply with the rules of the time.
The regulation that came into force in December by the Trump administration allowed the 9.5 liters per minute per nozzle, not per shower head.
With modern shower heads with several nozzles, a significantly larger amount of water would have been possible.
Consumer and environmental groups criticized the rule change as silly, unnecessary and wasteful.
Return to the old regulation should bring savings
With the return to the old regulation, the Department of Energy expects people to save around $ 38 per household per year.
The rule change is due to be published in the Federal Register next week.
Trump had hoped for hair washing benefits by suspending the limit.
He had complained repeatedly in the past that the water was running too slowly.
“So what are you doing?
You just stand there longer, you shower longer, ”Trump had said in a speech.
"I don't know what it looks like on you, but my hair has to be perfect."
