EXCLUSIVE SUBSCRIBER LETTER - The Veolia-Suez saga takes a detour through the assembly. But for what purpose?

Dear subscribers,

Let me confess to you one of my cute sins: I like going through the reports of parliamentary committees of inquiry.

Funny hobby, isn't it?

Perhaps this is because the questions are more incisive there than during classic hearings, before the Committee on Economic Affairs for example.

I remember a session a few years ago when the deputies questioned the boss of a public company in great difficulty.

On the balcony reserved for the press, an Anglo-Saxon colleague leaned towards me and said to me, astonished:

"but the guy is not even hot!"

.

No bursts of questions, but agreed interventions, grouped together in packs of five or ten, which prohibits any real exchange, and of course, any destabilization.

The deputies seem more interested in their questions than in the answers… We are very far from the atmosphere of the hearings before the American Senate.
