The Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Akbar Kemejani, announced that his country's economy recorded a growth of 3.6 percent last year, in addition to an increase in the gross national income by 2.5 percent as a result of appropriate measures and plans taken to confront the embargo imposed on the country.
During the regular annual meeting of the General Assembly of the Central Bank of Iran, Kamijani referred to the repercussions of Washington's withdrawal from the nuclear agreement and the resumption of the unjust US economic embargo and restrictions in the field of trade exchange with countries of the world, pointing out that these difficulties led to a decline in the gross national income curve in the country during the years 2018 and 2019 by a percentage. 5.4 and 6.5 percent.
Kamijani explained that the recent growth of the Iranian economy was achieved at a time when many countries around the world faced a major economic downturn as a result of the outbreak of the Corona virus.
