Carlos Melconian responded to the opposition leader Elisa Carrió, who had called him an

"economic blackmail"

, and to Victoria Tolosa Paz, a candidate for the ruling party, who accused him of being one of those responsible for "this bomb", referring to the current situation in the country.

Speaking to the TN signal, the former head of Banco Nación was blunt when asked about the statements of the former deputy and the candidate of the Frente de Todos, who had also harshly criticized him.

The president of the National Council for the Coordination of Social Policies had identified Melconian as

"one of those responsible for the economic failure of the government of Mauricio Macri."

In addition, he had fired, in statements to the same channel: "Listening to them causes a bit of an impression. They have magic recipes, but they have ruled for 4 years and they

left this bomb

."

The economist, recalling those criticisms this Tuesday, did not hesitate:

"I don't give a damn about Carrió and Tolosa Paz," he

shot.

"The truth is that I do not get into those quilombos.

I look forward ”.

In that sense, he recalled that the community from which he comes, the Armenian, is about

"donkeys who look ahead

.

"

Carrió had treated Melconian as "economic blackmail"

Then, when asked about the current economy, the mid-term elections and the chances of the ruling party, he pointed out that

“this is an economy to lose.

It will be the first time that they are going to go to the Conurbano to ask for the vote with 50 percent inflation ”.

In that sense, he added that

"people are hot"

and that the Argentine economy "is 30 or 40 years behind and is tied with wires."

He then predicted that Argentina will turn to the International Monetary Fund, but the agreement "will not reach 2023" because it would be wrong to aspire to re-election within the framework of an agreement with the financial institution.

Victoria Tolosa Paz pointed to Melconian as one of those responsible for "Macri's economic failure"

His relationship with the presidents

At the end of the interview, the economist pointed out that Cristina Kirchner was the only president with whom he did not speak and detailed in which economic issues other Heads of State interfered.

“I only greeted her once

in 2007, when she won the elections, and I never spoke again.

On the current vice president, in addition, he reserved his opinion since he maintained that he is "very respectful" of the position they occupy or have occupied.

"Not out of shit, but out of respect," he

explained.

"I share zero of his course and the things that have been done," he

completed.

Then, the tour by other leaders continued: "With Nestor Kirchner

I spoke many times, including Racing."

"When a president calls you to ask what you think, first

your socks fall off

, then they do whatever they want."

“Kirchner understood the treasury.

That a president does not understand macroeconomics does not matter.

(Carlos) Menem understood a course and where to go.

(Mauricio) Macri, suddenly, got more involved ”.

Regarding Ricardo Alfonsín, he recalled that “he had other things related to civility on his mind.

(Fernando) De La Rúa was interested, but they don't have to understand macroeconomics, "he said.

"The president is a leader and he

does not get involved

as if a minister is going to be a candidate or if a portfolio is divided into eight," he concluded.
