Deposits and facilities of microfinance institutions operating in Syria grew until February of the year 2021 with increases of 10.3 percent from the end of last February, and total credit facilities increased to about 31.791 million Syrian pounds.
According to the weekly economic report issued by the Central Bank of Syria, which SANA obtained a copy of, the total deposits of microfinance institutions grew by 10.3 percent to reach 18.739 million Syrian pounds in February of this year, compared to 16,995 million pounds at the end of last year, an increase of 1.744 million SP as a whole is deposits for the private sector.
On the other hand, the total credit facilities granted by the same institutions increased to 31.791 million pounds in February 2021, compared to 28.970 million pounds at the end of 2020, an increase of 2.821 million pounds, a growth rate of 9.7 percent.
