The internet companies Google and Facebook announced on Thursday that their employees would have to show a corona vaccination to work in the office.

This will first be introduced in the USA in the coming weeks and then expanded to other regions, said Google;

on Facebook, this also applies to the USA.

The vaccination campaign in the USA had recently stalled.

The reason is, in particular, widespread skepticism about vaccinations.

According to the CDC, the disease control agency, almost half of the US population is vaccinated against corona.

According to the US federal agency EEOC, which is responsible for enforcing anti-discrimination laws in the workplace, employers can require their employees to prove they have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

Exceptions are medical or religious reasons.

In Germany, however, this would not be possible without further ado.

In this country, the employer may only request a vaccination if it is required by law for certain groups, such as compulsory measles vaccination for people in community and health facilities.
