Today, the 121st edition of the monthly “Made in Syria” shopping festival, which is organized by the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside in cooperation with the Hama Chamber of Industry in the ancient Khan Rustam Pasha in Hama Governorate, kicked off today.
120 local companies from different governorates are participating in the festival, displaying a wide variety of food and consumer products, clothing and detergents of all kinds.
A member of the Damascus and Rural Chamber of Industry and supervisor of the festival, Talal Kalaji, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the festival aims to support the purchasing power of a wide segment of consumers by offering goods and materials of all kinds from the producer to the consumer without the middleman’s ring at a price close to the cost, indicating that gifts and discounts will be provided. On various products in addition to distributing vouchers to the families of the martyrs of the army.
Kaljai pointed out that the eight-day festival witnessed during the first day of its opening a large turnout from citizens, which indicates that the festivals are an important step towards consumer support, noting that the next session will be organized in the city of Masyaf in Hama Governorate, and then the festival will move to Baniyas.
For his part, the head of the Hama Chamber of Industry Ziad Arabo indicated that the discounts at the festival range between 20 and 30 percent of the price traded in the local market, which contributes to increasing demand, adding that the Chamber supports such festivals and encourages their establishment and provides the necessary facilities for their success because its main goal is to support consumers. Reducing the financial burden on them, especially in the current conditions of siege in Syria.
A number of representatives of local companies participating in the festival pointed out that their participation in it has two aspects, the first is to promote their products and goods and to know the needs of the local market, and the second is to support the purchasing power of consumers through discounts, rebates and gifts that are offered to them at the festival. The festival aims to introduce consumers to the new products and sell them at a price close to the cost, while Rudaina Abu Tafesh indicated that she came from As-Suwayda Governorate to participate in this festival and display the cosmetic products produced by the company with the aim of promoting its goods and direct contact with consumers and reducing their financial burden through discounts offered to them by the participating companies. .
A number of festival visitors pointed out that these festivals constitute an appropriate opportunity to shop at good prices as a result of the discounts offered by most of the participating companies. They also find various goods and materials they wish to purchase in one place, calling for the continuation of holding these festivals and expanding them to include other products such as stationery, electrical and household appliances.
