This Monday marks the extension of the health pass in many public places. The mask will no longer be compulsory unless the prefect or professional advises otherwise.

This Monday marks the extension of the health pass to many public places: bars, restaurants or long-distance transport such as TGV.

Published this Sunday in the Official Journal, the decree on its installation also recalls that the mask may be removed in places affected by the health pass: the "

The employees who work there will have to keep the mask.

For them, the health pass will only apply from August 30.

This relaxation of the wearing of masks for customers is in line with what the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran on RTL announced at the end of July: “

Where there is the health pass, people will be able to remove the mask, because that means that we are sure that all the people who return are completely vaccinated or have a very recent test which is negative

”.

However, an exception is made for long-distance transport such as airplanes, coaches and TGVs in which the mask must continue to be worn.

The wearing of the mask can also be made compulsory again by decision of the prefect but also of the professional of the establishment concerned: “

it can however be made compulsory by the prefect of the department when the local circumstances justify it, as well as by the operator. or the organizer

,

specifies the decree.

The majority of multiplex cinemas have chosen to maintain it despite the implementation of the health pass from July 21.

With regard to shopping centers, the decision of the obligation to present a health pass at the entrance and therefore to wear a mask also rests with the prefect.
