End of the "minimum number of days" of teleworking and no extension of the corporate health pass, assures Elisabeth Borne

The Minister of Labor announces this Monday morning that there will be "no more", from Tuesday, of "minimum number of days of telework".

Exit, the minimum number of teleworked days.

A sign of a change in the management of the health crisis, teleworking is also undergoing radical change.

Labor Minister Élisabeth Borne, guest of BFMTV-RMC on Monday, announces the publication of a new protocol giving companies full powers to "define the rules for teleworking" from Tuesday.

“Teleworking was an important tool before the summer to limit the spread of the virus.

We demanded a lot of effort from employers and employees who were a little tired of being 100% teleworking ”, launches the Minister.

After meetings last week with representatives of trade unions and employers, the Ministry of Labor has decided to "give back the hand to companies" to "set the rules for teleworking, so that we no longer have a number minimum days ”, indicates Élisabeth Borne.

“It is now up to the management of the company, in discussion with employee representatives, to define the rules for teleworking.

This is what the new protocol that will be published (Tuesday) evening will say, ”continued the Minister.

No health pass in companies

Among other updates, the minister returned to the issue of the corporate health pass, putting an end to rumors that it could be generalized.

"There are no plans to extend the health pass to other establishments," said the minister.

We did not plan to ask employees of office companies, factories… It is not planned today, ”she insists.

The rule is simple: the health pass is required from this Monday for employees of places where the pass is already requested from the public.

And that will be all, according to Élisabeth Borne.

“The logic is when we ask customers and therefore when customers who come to an establishment say

we are all protected against the virus

: so employees must also be protected against the virus.

“The health pass will only be compulsory for employees in contact with the public,” says Élisabeth Borne.

Returning to this new step in the obligation of the health pass from this Monday, for employees in certain sectors, the Minister remains firm.

"There are many provisions in the law to avoid layoffs in the absence of health pass for the employee," she said.

"We will see if there are difficulties in certain sectors"

From Tuesday, end of whatever the cost.

However, "sectors with partial activity or whose activity does not restart or little" will continue "to be supported", promises the minister.

This is for example the case of discotheques or event groups, she illustrates.

The minister is meeting the representatives of the sectors most affected by the crisis on Monday, with the Minister of the Economy.

"We will see if there are difficulties in certain sectors," she promises.
