With its sights set on the post-pandemic, American Express conducted a study on the

new behaviors

of Argentines around travel.

From there it arises that the main fear of potential travelers before the chance to travel abroad is to be stranded.

According to a survey carried out by the card among its high-end clients, although 79% declare that they feel safe when traveling, when inquiring about the main fears

, 90% answer that they fear not being able to return to the country because of changes in flight ratings.

"The lack of certainty about administrative aspects related to travel in a pandemic is the greatest concern of those surveyed," the study states.

At a second level, with 35% of responses,

the fear of catching Covid appears.

Two months ago, when the government began to apply restrictions on flights arriving in Argentina from abroad, there were 40,000 people stranded.

Today and despite the increase in the number of authorized trips, an estimated

5,000 remain.

Those who return from the country are obliged to be tested several times and to quarantine for a week.

The last modification in this regard was the announcement that as of September 20, quarantine will not be mandatory for those who have traveled for work reasons.

And from next Monday Chilean and Uruguayan tourists will be able to enter.

New behaviors

The Amex study points out that "the desire to travel is more present than ever, but

what changes in this context are the concerns and values of travelers

, who are now looking for proposals that give them security and confidence in the face of unforeseen events, and motivate them. relieve stress through short trips, connect with nature and enjoy its affections ".

These conclusions come from the study “New behaviors in travel and experiences.

$ 305,000 gross is required.

Among this segment of ABC1 consumers, who occupy

the highest decile of the socioeconomic pyramid

, 35% state that during the pandemic they were able to save for future trips, while another 30% used the surplus of their income to remodel and condition their homes.

According to the study, the main reason for savings among those surveyed is still

traveling as little as possible (43%)

. In fact, the Covid effect has caused priorities today to go through high standards of cleanliness (100% of respondents), review cancellation policies (96%) in the event of new circulation restrictions;

and hire a travel insurance and assistance service (91%).
